How to: Properly Clay your car

Make sure you have thoroughly washed and dried your car prior to claying.

- Break of a piece of Clay about half the size of a golf ball, roll into a ball and then flatten it out into a pancake.
- Spray the first section of the roof with quick detailer.
- Glide the clay across the area in a front to back motion applying some pressure.
- Work in 2x2 areas.
- If you feel your fingers going through the clay, then you are pushing too hard. If the clay is streaking on the paint, then you need more QD.
- While gliding, you should hear a slight noise and feel some resistance. This is the grit being lifted from the paint. When the resistance and noise stops, dry the QD off with a quality towel. Move onto the next 2x2 section and do the same thing.
- Once the clay starts to pick up contaminates you will see it in the clay. You can turn the clay over and use the other side, but your clay will not last forever! If you do continue to use it, you will most likely put micro scratches in your clear.
- You will probably need 4-12 pieces of clay for your entire car. Please note if you ever drop the clay, throw it away! It will pick up any dirt on the ground and potentially scratch your paint.

When complete your car should be as smooth as glass. The next steps should be to remove the swirls (if necessary), clean/polish the paint, and seal in the rejuvenated finish with a wax or sealant. You don’t need to clay your car every time you detail your car. I would suggest once a year for an average vehicle.

How to: Properly Polish your car

Swirl Removers, Polishes and Glazes same process for all except different pads on your polisher.

Make sure you have thoroughly washed and dried your car prior to polishing.

- Apply swirl remover/polish/glaze around the edge of the pad.
- Take the polisher and smear the product into the section you are going to work while the polisher is off. This will totally eliminate splatter.
- Turn the machine on, and work the product in @ speed 2 or 3.
- Go in up and down and then back and forth overlapping motions.
- When the polish starts to dry, up the speed to 4-4.5 and buff off as much as you can. The shine should start to come thru.
- Use Microfiber towel to remove any remaining residue. Do each section as many times as you have to until the swirls are gone. Remember! Your final result will only be as good as your prep. Once complete, apply a quality wax or sealant of your choice to protect the finish.

How to: Properly apply Wax or Sealant

Car should be washed, clean and polished before wax or sealant. Remember your shine will be dependent on your polishing procedures! Make sure you take all necessary steps before waxing or sealing.

I recommend waxing and sealing by hand, using a polisher will just waste product.

- Apply small amount of wax or sealant to a quality foam pad and apply to paint in back and forth motion.
- Let dry to a haze and remove with Microfiber towel.
- Some sealants want you to wait before removing (EX-P) If so just wait the recommended amount of time before removing.
